Support
Step Totals is an iPhone and Apple Watch app that reads your Apple Health step count and walking or running distance so you can review daily totals and totals across a chosen date range.
Supported devices
iPhone running iOS 17.6 or later. Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later (optional).
How to use the app
- Open the app and allow access to Apple Health data when prompted.
- Select a start date and end date, or use a quick range shortcut.
- Review totals for days, steps, miles, and the daily breakdown list.
- Add Step Totals widgets to your Lock Screen or Home Screen for today's steps or distance.
- On Apple Watch, open the watch app once to grant Health access, then add Step Totals complications to your watch face.
Troubleshooting
- If no data appears, confirm that your iPhone has Apple Health step or walking/running distance data.
- If access was denied, reopen Apple Health or iPhone Settings and re-enable Health access for Step Totals.
- Widgets and complications refresh periodically on a schedule iOS controls; opening the app refreshes them immediately.
- HealthKit data is only available on a physical iPhone or Apple Watch, not the Simulator.
